LASER HAIR REMOVAL SAN MARCOS, CA

Tired of having unwanted body or facial hair? Shaving or using hair reduction creams can be a pain, often causing razor burn or ingrown hairs, and they never keep hair away for long. Waxing can be painful, and if done incorrectly could damage the skin permanently. At Beauty Lounge, we understand how uncomfortable and embarrassing unwanted hair can be, which is why we offer Venus Versa hair reduction services as a permanent solution.

Venus Versa uses an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to reduce hair growth at the source with minimal or no pain and no recovery time. All skin types are compatible with the laser hair removal procedure, and nearly every area on the face and body can be treated.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Diode lasers use a single wavelength of light that has a high abruption rate in melanin (pigment). As the melanin heats up, it destroys the root and blood flow to the follicle disabling the hair growth permanently. Darker hair will be more affected than hair with less pigment. Multiple treatments at specific intervals target hair in its anagen, or active, growth phase.

Rohrer Spectrum – 810-Diode Features a large spot size, built in contact cooling and a hertz rate of up to 10-pulses per second. Diode laser is effective and efficient at hair removal in mixed-race patients. It is a safe treatment in terms of skin reaction as only short-term side effects were observed in the treated area and no adverse effects were noted.

Laser hair removal works when the light beams are absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft and follicle. People with dark hair are considered the best candidates. Blonde, gray, and strawberry-blonde hair may not absorb the laser light. And contrast between the hair and your skin is also important, so people with dark skin may not have enough contrast for the beams to be absorbed by the hair follicle.

Each person responds differently to laser hair removal. Some may require more treatments than others. And sometimes laser hair removal can’t eliminate hair completely. If some hair does grow back, it’s usually thinner and finer than before the treatment.

Face: upper lip, chin, nose, cheeks, sideburns, and ears

Body: neck, back, chest, abdomen, underarms, arms, hands, feet, and legs

We also specialize in hair removal for the intimate areas. These services have been particularly popular in recent years and we call them the “Brazillian” for women and “Manzillian” for men.

Depending on your hair type and the area where you choose to receive treatment, hair reduction takes anywhere from 6-10 treatments to see permanent results. Thicker coarse hair may require more treatments. Those with low pain thresholds may require additional treatments.  Appointments must be scheduled between 4-6 weeks apart.

Before Your Treatment

You can prepare for laser hair removal by not waxing or plucking hairs in the treatment area for 4 to 6 weeks before your treatment; hair follicles must be present to be treated. You can still shave and, in fact, you’ll be asked to shave your treatment area 24 to 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Because laser hair removal depends on the color of your skin and hair, you should not sun tan for a minimum of 6 weeks before your treatment. This includes spray tanning.

After Your Treatment

There may be some redness or bumps immediately after the treatment, but nothing expected to keep you from your daily activities. Some people briefly apply an icepack to their treatment area. You don’t need time to recover after your session, so you can participate in almost all your regular activities immediately after your appointment. You should, however, avoid exposure to the sun for the following 4 to 6 weeks.
