Thread Lift San Diego
SAN DIEGO COSMETIC PDO THREAD LIFT
PDO thread lift is an effective cosmetic procedure that lifts and tighten sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production. It involves the implantation of fine, absorbable (PDO) polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles. These PDO threads remain implanted in the skin causing micro-injuries that stimulate collagen synthesis and tissue contraction. After six months, the PDO threads will be absorbed into the body leaving new collagen in their place.
The procedures is usually carried out using local anesthetic, and takes between 45 and 60 minutes depending on the treatment area. Side effects are minimal but may include facial swelling and bruising that lasts 2-3 days, and patients can continue with normal activities immediately after. PDO threads can be used on the cheeks, brow, jawline, neck, naso-labial folds, marionette lines, arms, thighs and abdomen. The thread lifting effect is at its peak after 6 months when collagen has formed around the threads, and lasts between 2-3 years.
PDO Thread Lifts – Facelift
Who is a good candidate?
For the right candidate in San Diego, a thread lift can provide a pleasing, natural rejuvenation of the face with the benefit of no general anesthesia, rapid recovery and very minimal cost compared to a cosmetic facelift or a neck-lift. PDO Threads can also be combined with other facial procedures like injectable fillers, Ultherapy, PRP, and Micro-needling, just to name a few!
Ideal candidates for thread lifting prodecure include:
- Patients with minimal signs of aging who need just a small to moderate lift that want amazing effects.
- Good candidates are those patients who are starting to see some droopiness of the brow, cheeks, jowls and/or neck and would like to see a lift effect, but do not want the risk, scars, or recovery of a real browlift, facelift, or neck-lift operation.
- Patients who have had some relapse from a previous plastic surgery procedure such as a facelift or neck lift. People who do not wish to undergo a surgical facelift or neck-lift for prolonged recovery and expected.
PDO Facial Threads
What is the recovery like after a PDO Thread Lift?
Pain can be managed with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and/or ibuprofen (Advil). Stronger pain medicine is not typically required, You may have mild swelling and bruising for a few days. Icing the treated area as well as arnica is recommended for the first few days to minimize any negative effects. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity for few days.
What kind of results can be expected, and how long do the results last?
The result of the PDO Thread Lift is immediate and even more noticeable after 1-2 weeks when all the facial swelling and potential bruising has resolved. The lift results will continue to enhance as your skin produces even more collagen over the next several months, also making the results of the pdo thread lift last longer than the life of the threads.
As more than one lift treatment may be necessary to achieve the desired threadlift results, more threads can always be inserted to continue to improve the results as well as prolong your initial outcome. If you choose to have a more intensive surgical procedure or facelift at a later point, this can be done without any problems as the PDO sutures will be absorbed completely without leaving any kind of cosmetic scarring or negative effects.
